OTLA’s Helmets on Kids program honoured with award

The important work of OTLA members involved in our Helmets on Kids program was recently honoured by the Ontario Brain Injury Association with their Fellowship Award.

The award recognized OTLA’s Helmets on Kids Program for helping to increase public awareness of acquired brain injury. Patrick Brown, OTLA Past President, was at OBIA’s annual general meeting on June 26 to accept the award.

OTLA’s Helmets on Kids Community Partnership was started by OTLA in 2002. Since its first event, held in London, Ontario, this initiative has distributed more than 10,000 helmets to elementary school students in Ontario.

This year, OTLA’s Helmet on Kids events took place during May and June in Ottawa, Toronto, London, Aurora, Burlington, Chatham, Peel Region, Quinte Region and Windsor. Click here for more information.
