Ron Bohm, Blackburn Lawyers
As a senior litigation partner with the firm since 1995, Ron has a long history of achieving excellent results for his clients. He is one of only a handful of lawyers in the Province of Ontario dually certified by the Law Society of Ontario, as a specialist in both Civil Litigation and Health Law (Medical Malpractice). Ron has appeared at every level of court in Canada on some widely reported, cases for his own clients and as counsel for other lawyers.
Ron regularly publishes scholastic papers on litigation and legal ethics issues for the Law Society of Ontario, the Ontario Bar Association and the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association. He is a past President of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (2018-2019) and meets with judiciary and government bodies to advocate for positive change in Ontario's laws. Ron is a co-author of The OTLA Code of Conduct.
His courtroom successes include precedent setting judgments for the victims of medical malpractice and estate wrongdoing. Ron is approachable, caring and has earned the reputation of being truly dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of those he represents.
Paul Harte, Harte Law Professional Corporation
Paul Harte is a leading medical malpractice lawyer, designated by his peers in L’Expert and listed in Best Lawyers in Canada. He holds dual certification as a specialist in Health Law and Civil Litigation. He is a member of the Bar in Ontario, Alberta and Nunavut assisting injured victims and their families across Canada. He has handled hundreds of medical negligence claims.
Paul is a past President of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) and past chair of OTLA’s Medical Malpractice Section. He is currently the Chair of OTLA’s Standards of Excellence Committee. He was the principle author of OTLA’s 2015 ethical code of conduct. He is a frequent invited speaker on trial advocacy and medical negligence at events hosted by the Law Society of Ontario, Advocates Society, Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, Ontario Bar Association, American Association for Justice and Osgoode Professional Development.
Paul is actively involved in advocacy for patient safety and greater transparency in our publicly funded health care system. He is frequently consulted by media and government to comment in these fields. He has also assumed a leadership position in advocating for greater regulation of plaintiff personal injury lawyers in the areas of law brokerages, referral fees and advertising.
